Nanocellulose Based Self-Standing Films for Water Purification and Softening, 2017 NANO
The nanocellulose has gained increasing attention due to their high aspect ratios, high strength and stiffness combined with low weight, biodegradability, and renewability, thus offering numberless application opportunities, including water purification. Their further modification and functionalization as well as blending with other nano-bioadsorbents may increase their added-value for specific applications. Merging these properties with added functionality where the porosity from one side and suitable surface chemistry on the other are required, may be exploited toward applications in wastewater cleaning as well as water softening.
