Supercalenders are critical machines that enhance the smoothness and gloss needed for high-quality printing paper. However, the supercalender stack may also adversely affect various other sheet properties such as caliper and moisture. In order to ensure that quality specifications are met according to their priorities, a multivariable control technique is needed.
