In late October, 2015, a group of business people from the packaging industry arranged a trip to Cuba to try to facilitate some future business in light of warming relations between that country and the U.S. TAPPI, which has had Cuban members since 1963, was asked to go along to gauge how recent announcements might affect the pulp and paper industry. I was fortunate enough to be asked to join the group.
