Capturing the Momentum of Change, Paper360º November/December 2020
In my final year of university, I completed a chemistry honors project in which I conducted research relating to the pulp and paper industry. This project sparked an interest in the industry and in the complexity of the chemistry involved in the process, so when a position came up at Norske Skog I was excited to apply. (The Boyer Mill is located in southern Tasmania and produces about 290,000 metric tpy of newsprint, improved newsprint, book grades, and lightweight coated grades.)
Working at Norske Skog in the Technical Support and Development team provides opportunities for me to be involved in fascinating projects from pulping to printing to biochemicals. The complex nature of our industry and the new and exciting areas of innovation means there is always something new to learn about and be involved in.
