Online Course Description:
This introductory online course module was developed by Alabama Southern Community College under a grant by the National Science Foundation. The course module focuses on chemical recovery operations and terminology.

Learning objectives:

Increase awareness of sulfite pulping chemical recovery, including NSSC and bisulfite/acid sulfite spent pulping liquor; the different approaches to dealing with sodium, magnesium, calcium, and ammonium bases; and what occurs in a SO₂ gas absorption system.
