Stickies and Recycled Paperboard, 1991 Hot Melt Symposium Proceedings
A discussion of the general principles manufacturers of recycled paperboard follow in dealing with the non-fibrous materials so frequently present in paper stock.
The safest course is not to take in raw materials containing these materials but, if possible at all, such a course may not be economically feasible. Therefore, the mill management are obliged to equip for a process which will take paper stock whose price fits their cost structure and make from it pulp slurries of the quality needed for their product.
As the quality of waste paper changes and equipment suppliers find improved ways of handling contaminating
materials, managers must continue to reassess their position in this respect.
