Latex binders are seldom applied directly from a drum or tank truck. Formulating is done with various ingredients to “fine-tune” the binder for a particular end use. A great deal of technology exists in the art of nonwoven binder formulating: some of these additives are designed to insure trouble-free manufacturing or conversion, some others to provide specific benefits to the finished product. In this paper, we are going to review a number of these processing aids and product enhancers.
