The use of calcium carbonate in polyolefin extrusion coating applications is now growing rapidly. Improvements include increased adhesion, lower extrusion temperatures, faster line speed, less printing surface preparation, better printability, higher barrier properties, longer run times, and better sealability. The proper selection of calcium carbonate grade and concentrate carrier resin is required to achieve the optimum balance of properties, performance and total cost.
