The potential for the formation of deposits by the reaction of carboxylic acids with PCC (Precipitated Calcium Carbonate) in neutral/alkaline papermaking systems is discussed. The study is part of a project designed to understand and to optimize the chemistry of the neutral/alkaline papermaking process.
