Bowater Incorporated’s Coated Paper and Pulp Division in Catawba, SC has a four stage, kraft brownstock washing system. Installed in 1959 to wash 360 tonnes per day of 30 kappa kraft pulp, modifications have allowed mill personnel to operate the original equipment in the washing line at rates of 1400 tonnes per day.
