Bearing Life Prediction in Papermaking Machinery, Including Environmental Effects, 1990 Engineering Conference Proceedings

A new practical approach to predicting bearing life in papermaking machinery is presented based on the effects of lubrication conditions and solid contamination. Many papers have been written regarding bearing life improvements as a result of sealing bearings or adding filters, but few, if any, were written predicting the effects of these parameters combined with lubrication conditions. This presentation will combine contamination effects with bearing operating conditions and show how this information can be used to better predict bearing life in papermaking machines.
