Unique Approach to Solid Waste Reduction, 1997 Environmental Conference Proceedings

Beginning in 1994, and continuing to the present, Tenneco-Counce implemented a solid waste reduction/recycling/reuse program which has reduced waste paper disposal by 90%, production waste disposal by 72 %, and secondary fiber rejects disposal by 64 %. Recycling programs have also been implemented for wood waste, aluminum cans, and other items. All efforts have been implemented using employee involvement teams.
