Flexible Packaging

The global flexible packaging market (food/beverage), which includes packages whose shapes can be readily changed, has experienced steady growth over the last ten years. For instance, the market for flexible packaging products was $58 billion in 2007—just five years later, the global market had grown by $7.5 billion to $65.5 billion, despite one of the most severe economic downturns of the last 100 years. PMG expects the global market for flexible packaging products (food/beverage) to reach $67.7 billion in 2012 and increase to $84.3 billion by 2017.

Over this period, plastics will continue to dominate market share rising from $51.3 billion in 2012 to $64.7 billion in 2017. This represents a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 4.7% for the five-year period. This report covers the global flexible packaging industry. Sales figures are provided for Europe, Asia, the United States, the rest of North America and the Rest of the World (RoW).
