The calculations described in TAPPI Standard “Cross-machine grammage profile measurement (gravimetric method)”, Test Method TAPPI/ANSI T 545 om-19, are very tedious to perform manually making the process error prone and testing the statistical significance of the results requires looking up values on an F-Distribution table.

This spreadsheet, allows the users to perform the calculations for TAPPI Standard T545 as well as TAPPI’s Process Control TIP1101 easily and quickly. 

There are no directly comparable products on the market. Each of the QCS suppliers performs similar calculations on their QCS profile data but they do not allow for the analysis of profile data from outside of their platform.  This tool provides an independent way of performing QCS system profile variability calculations.
