A standardized procedure for creasing paperboard using male and female steel rules to evaluate its water vapor barrier performance after creasing, a critical step before conducting a Water Vapor Transmission Rate (WVTR) test. This method ensures consistent preparation of coated or laminated paperboard samples, regardless of thickness, by creasing them in either the machine or cross direction to simulate real-world stress and determine how the creased barrier performs under such conditions.
