If Modified Continuous Cooking (MCC) is used to cook to low kappa numbers the yield is lower and the load to the recovery boiler increases. The purpose of this research was to study the use of anthraquinone (AQ) and polysulfide (PS) additions to the extended delignification process to increase yield and minimize the effect on the boiler.
