PressWeb.jpg

For many Pulp & Paper power boilers using bark, coal, oil, NCG and other fuels, Boiler MACT would require improvements of existing Air Pollution Control Systems. Rock-Tenn Company in Demopolis AL, upgraded their traditional wet scrubber in 2004 to comply with Boiler MACT. The mill’s 220,000 lbs/h steam boiler is burning bark, coal, and NCG. This presentation will share the results and provide qualitative insights in regards to a new wet scrubber technology as a feasible alternative to Boiler MACT compliance.
