Asymmetrical Washing Liquor Flow Control in Continuous Digester, 2005 Engineering, Pulping & Environmental Conference

PressWeb.jpg

For the new asymmetrical washing liquor flow control system, different washing liquor valve sequences and the number of the open valves with different valve positions has been tested. Also experiments with washing circulation and the amount of the washing liquor have been carried out. By using the new system, Kappa number, washing zone temperature and blow line consistency deviations have decreased significantly. The washing efficiency (lower conductivity at the blow line) has improved as well. The system has been implemented and tested at the industrial chemical pulping mill and it has been in the continuous use.
