Reliability focused asset management has become the focal point of maintenance throughout industry. This is understandable with production, production, production with the highest possible quantity and quality and quality being undoubtedly today’s key to a company’s furvival. In order to meet the demands of the marketplace and retain market share companies today must operate at optimum levels of reliability while keeping operating costs as low as possible. The production facilities must be abailable to produce product consistently with the least interruption. This has resulted in a renewed focus on production equipment and plant reliability. The most comprehesive asset management approach today is one with a reliability focus. Reliability focused asset management is a natural metamorphosis of the original preventive maintenance programs based on ever changing industrial need. This manuscript is a study of a comprehesive asset management program’s elements and their development.
