My TAPPI Story: McKenna Goulette
A computer program has been developed that can solve the nonlinear contact problem of dissimilar multilayer viscoelastic covered rolls. Stresses, strains, temperatures and other important press roll engineering parameters can be calculated under steady-state rate-dependent conditions of papermachine operations.
The results of the calculations have been used for the determination of press nip parameters for optimization of papermaking performance.
