This paper presents new online technology that measures visible dirt specks to Tappi Standard Method T563 on machines running up to 400 m/min. The technology has been tested in a mill environment and analyzes 1m2 of pulp every 40 seconds to a minimum speck size of 0.016mm2. The results are presented as physical and TAPPI EBA for number of specks per m2 and PPM, (mm2/m2).
