Potentials and Avenues for Nanotechnologies in Canadian Wood Products, 2006 International Conference of Nanotechnology
In 2005 Forintek and the National Research Council of Canada commissioned a study with Strategic Consulting to assess the opportunities posed by nanotechnology in the Canadian wood products sector. A wide range of input was sought, synthesized, and analyzed. The result is a summary of opportunities where nanotechnology can be applied, in both the short and longer term, in areas such as wood based composite materials, resins, emissions reductions, moisture control, durability, and new materials. The paper will give an overview of the process and findings.
