Understanding Nanoparticle/Microparticle Performance Through Visualization of Conformational Changes of a Retention Aid at the Nanoscale Level, 2006 International Conference on Nanotechnology
A novel transmission electron microscopy technique for the visualization of polymers adsorbed on secondary fines has been developed. The technique has been employed to observe the effects of various microparticles on the adsorption behavior and conformational characteristics of C-PAM. The mechanism responsible for improved drainage and retention following microparticle addition will be discussed.
