High molecular weight, high density polyethylene (HMW-HDPE) film products have become a common component of twenty-first century life, but few outside of T-shirt bag and institutional can liner producers have more than a superficial understanding of the products and markets. In this presentation, the unique aspects of HMW resins, films, products, and markets will be addressed, which should provide a good introduction to those unfamiliar with HMW films. For those familiar with HMW films, the material should provide a good review and look to the future of these products and markets.
