Differential Pressure control is not automatic control of dryer drainage, and it is responsible for enormous losses of energy. Control of the velocity head of the blow through steam, BT control, does conform to the definition of automatic control and has produced a maximum reduction in steam consumption, major increases in productivity, and improved strategy of drying. Being truly automatic, the control loop utilizes the same setpoint for all dryer sections at all times.
