Upgrading DD® refiners with spline technology delivers a wide range of cost saving benefits. Results from hundreds of splined upgrade installations have proven beneficial for improving fiber strength development, reducing gross power consumption, and extending plate life. To take advantage of these benefits, many of our customers are upgrading or have plans to upgrade all refiners within their mill. Power companies are funding refiner upgrades, rebuilds, and refiner replacement projects as incentives to initiate power reduction projects.
