Recovered paper is the most important fiber raw material for manufacturing paper and board in Europe. Recycling of paper products becomes increasingly popular all over Europe. In general it becomes necessary to produce more recycling friendly paper products to keep the recycling cycle running when the recovered paper utilization rate increases. For graphic paper products criteria for recycling benign paper products are established and test methods developed. The paper explains the targets of the new “European Declaration on Paper Recycling”, presents the recycling criteria of the INGEDE for graphic paper products and shows finally results of recyclability tests from Europe and North America.
