New two-component, solventless aliphatic urethane adhesive technology was developed to improve the processability of converting and curing film-to-film laminations. This technology involves blocking / deblocking of a urethane catatlyst to achieve the desired features of both long pot-life and fast full cure. The catalyst chemistry for this process remains speculative. Both formulation and process variables for the catalyst and adhesive were investigated to show effects on pot-life and full cure time.
