Most modern dies for extrusion coating and laminating processes include adjustable internal deckles. These deckle systems typically enable the processor to vary the extrudate width and control the size and shape of the edge beads. Since smaller edge beads provide greater process efficiency due to reduced edge trim waste, effective edge profile control technology is in high demand.
