The ecological and economic effects of worldwide energy consumption are well known. On the subject of energy savings in the paper machine, the dryer section is obviously in the lead. However, the areas of press dewatering and press clothing open upon closer inspection significant energy saving potential – even though they might be more difficult to recognize and to measure.
