The design of gas cleaning systems for gasification systems, including those converting non-fossil fuel sources, requires the careful calculation of the gas qualities at each portion of the system. The gas mixtures often bias towards hydrogen or CO or CO2 thus changing both the molecular weight and the specific heat of the mixture. These changes can have a dramatic affect on the mechanical design of the system. Methods are available, however to approximate those conditions so that an effective system can be designed and built.
