Sustainable development is the main focus for industries which depends on optimum use of resources and reduction of cost of manufacturing. This can be done by finding some innovative alternative processes and products. In this direction, a novel experimental study has been done for use of pulverized coal fly ash, a solid waste, as a wet end filler material in manufacturing of paper and paper board products like decorative laminate grade colored base papers. Fly ash obtained from the burning of pulverized coal is very fine in particle size. It is available world wide from coal based thermal power plants as solid wastes.
