Hemi caustic extraction liquor was often disposed with very little economic value recovered. This paper is focused on recovering Hemi cellulose through freeze concentration with future innovative application of gas hydrate technology. The crystallized ice needs to be separated by washing with process water. Extended period of washing will lower the temperature of process washing water which will lead to the freezing and plugging all the pipes. This phenomena causes the interruption of continuous manufacture process and the 5 degree gas hydrate ice crystals will overcome this difficult. Our work in recovering the value of hemi caustic extraction liquor is described below.

Hemi caustic consists of Caustic and Hemi cellulose. Recovery of caustic was attempted by concentrating the hemi caustic effluent liquor using freeze concentration technique as a preliminary step. Similar preliminary step was used for recovery of the hemi cellulose. After the ice phase and mother liquor (Concentrated Hemi caustic) are separated we hydrolyzed the hemi cellulose into C5 and C6 monosugars which can be fermented into bio ethanol. We can use the separate phase with enriched C6 monosugars for the fer
