A new headbox concept has been developed (patents applied for) with the goal of cost effectiveness without sacrificing operational performance. The heart of the headbox, the tube bank, has been re-evaluated and completely redesigned. It has been optimized for structural rigidity and thermal stability, reducing cost by simplifying the manufacturing and materials. The design provides flexibility to operate with or without flow sheets and can be used with either cross machine header or “octopus” inlet designs. It is also capable of internal or external dilution profile control and is applicable to virtually all former design concepts.
