Cellulase and xylanase were used respectively to treat poplar APMP pulp in this paper to improve the pulp drainability. The effects of enzyme treatment on pulp drainability and strength properties were studied. The results showed that both cellulase and xylanase can improve effectively the pulp drainability and pulp strength properties. The effectiveness of cellulase treatment was better than that of xylanase. The optimal conditions of cellulase treatment are enzyme dosage 0.3IU/g, pulp consistency 1.0%, pH value 4.5, temperature 45ı and time 60min. The optimal conditions of xylanase treatment are xylanase dosage 1.5IU/g, pulp consistency 0.5%, pH value 7.0, temperature 45ı and time 30min.
