Current wallboard and sheathing products suffer from a combination of deficiencies including fragility, poor environmental resistance, high cost and/or low insulation value (R value). In this study, nonwoven composite panels are proposed as replacement of materials such as drywall, stucco, foam and other sheathing products. The objective of this study is to create a fibrous board product having adequate properties for construction applications as well as reasonable resistance to heat transfer, thus improving energy efficiency in residential housing.
