Four layered composite filter media were prepared using meltblown fabrics, nonwoven and woven cotton fabrics with nanofibers electrospun on to them. The performance of this media was characterized in the terms of filtration efficiency at different flow rates. Structural characteristics of the composite media showed that a thin layer of nanoweb and a cotton nonwoven layer improve all over performance by increasing the filtration efficiency at a slower flow rate.
