Microbes play a critical role in the operating efficiency and product quality of various papermaking processes. Effective control of microbiological (MB) growth in additives and the wet end is required for reducing downtime, producing quality products, and optimizing profits. Early recognition of MB problems, selection of appropriate biocides, and effective troubleshooting techniques are key essentials of a comprehensive MB treatment program. This roundtable session will focus on a variety of topics which play significant roles in the effective use of biocides and MB control in papermaking.
