The established field experience for composite tubes with 304L and modified Incoloy 825 extruded cladding has been shown to provide the necessary corrosion and cracking resistance when selectively and appropriately applied for the service conditions in the hearth of a recovery boiler. For applications where the standard sizes and features of commercially available composite tubes are available, the installation of the appropriate, extruded composite tubing is a necessity for attaining low maintenance and long service life for recovery boiler furnace components including primary air ports, smelt spout openings and floors.
