With the USEPA’s December 2012 issuance of the Boiler MACT many Mills are facing difficult decisions. The MACT limits for new and existing sources represent a distinct challenge for the pollution control devices that have been historically utilized on solid fuel fired boilers. While these limits are more stringent than that to which we have become accustom in the USA, they would on numerous points be considered “Business as Usual” in the European Union.
