Referring to a typical modern tissue drying process with Yankee cylinder and associated hi-temp/hi-velocity Yankee hood, the objective of this presentation is to review the various factors involved in the tissue paper drying process. The Yankee cylinder drying contribution (Rw steam) will be assumed constant and we will attempt to demonstrate the added contribution (Rw hood) of the Yankee hood with supply air temperature and supply air impingement velocity and their individual influence the total operational drying costs.
