The TAPPI Engineering Process and Project Engineering Committee in late 2012 conducted a survey1 of more than 8000 professionals regarding the capital planning process at their firms. Ninety-four percent of the respondents worked directly for pulp and paper manufactures. The survey identified ten noteworthy project effectiveness gaps.
