Current industry sustainability trends directed
towards minimizing packaging materials and packaging
costs have led to thinner and less expensive flexible
packaging materials being proposed to replace thicker and
more expensive structures. Existing methods for
determining package durability are at best expensive and
time-consuming, and at worst counter-predictive of actual
field performance. In this paper, I will share some of the
results of an on-going investigation being conducted at
Rollprint Packaging Products to better understand and
eventually predict the durability performance of flexible
packaging materials.
