When Gorham Paper and Tissue, Gorham, NH, USA, started up its No. 6 ABK tissue machine in October 2012, nobody knew for certain what the final product quality would be. But today, more than a year past the startup curve and well into the optimization phase, the machine, a joint venture project with Gorham’s sister operation Old Town Fuel & Fiber in Old Town, Maine, is producing Premium quality parent rolls, “knocking on the door of Ultra-premium,” Mike Cummings, CEO, says, smiling.
