The objective of this work is to characterize the wood from C. citriodora for pulp production. Wood chips from a C. citriodora plantation with 8 years-old samples were used. Wood fibers morphology and chemical composition were analyzed. Kraft pulping was carried out in separate stainless steel bombs (450 mL capacity). The pulping conditions were: 25% sulphidity; 90 minutes heating to cooking temperature; 60 minutes at 166ºC cooking temperature; 70 grams of dried wood chips; and liquor-to-wood ratio of 4 L/kg. The active alkali charge was at levels of 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24% (NaOH basis).
