Eucalypt wood is becoming the most important feedstock for bleached kraft pulp production, particularly in South America. However, it has been observed by the pulp manufactures that there are some eucalypt clones with resistance to wind action and others that are not; those lacking wind resistance are prone to breaking, which results in productivity losses the field. In this context, this study aims to investigate a correlation between the chemical composition of eucalypt clones and their resistance to wind action. It was observed that the fragility of trees studied for wind resistance does not correlate to the chemical composition of the wood; however, differences among the clones were found.
