Operating Experience with the new ATMP Process in a Newsprint Mill, 2016 International Mechanical Pulping (IMPC) Conference
At IMPC 2009 in Sundsvall ANDRITZ and NSI together presented a new thermomechanical pulping technology, called ATMP (Advanced TMP) for production of mechanical pulps with significantly reduced energy
consumption while maintaining or improving other pulp properties.
The technology consists of unit operations formulated to better separate the defibration and fibrillation steps of the TMP process, with the goal of achieving the required pulp properties at the lowest possible energy demand. Each process step can be optimized separately for maximizing the efficiency of this process.
TAPPI conference proceedings and presentations, technical papers, and publication articles provide technical and management data and solutions on topics covering the Pulp, Paper, Tissue, Corrugated Packaging, Flexible Packaging, Nanotechnology and Converting Industries.
