In June of 2015, during TAPPI’s 100th year anniversary celebration, TAPPI leader-ship held a variety of conversations regarding member benefits. Because the most recent compensation survey conducted by TAPPI was done in 2002, leaders concluded that reintroducing this benefit could be valuable to members and non-members alike who are interested in evaluating the progression of salaries and benefits within our industry. Thus, development of the new TAPPI Industry Compensation Survey began.

Constructing the survey was a lengthy process. TAPPI worked in tandem with an external organization, Dynamic Benchmarking, to guide the creation of the platform as well as assist in gauging the types of questions to be included before TAPPI began benchmarking participation and calculating results.
