The US recycled paperboard producer faces many challenges in an increasingly competitive market - the latest threat being an increasing number of domestic graphic paper producers converting capacity to paperboard due to continually weakening demands for publication grades. To compete, paperboard producers need to optimize. On the wet end of the paper machine, we see customers looking for technical solutions in the following areas - increasing production rates, reducing fiber usage, increasing sheet test properties, reducing chemical usage, increasing fabric life, and lowering wet end energy consumption.
