Bleach Plant Effluent Fiber Filters, 2016 Pulping, Engineering, Environmental, Recycling, Sustainability (PEERS) Conference Proceedings
In bleach plants using pressure washers or wash presses it is common for the filtrate to contain enough fibers to warrant their recovery for the fiber value, but also their removal from the effluent stream to prevent fouling of the downstream heat exchangers. The presentation will cover the pressure screen type fiber filters which are commonly found in this type of application. It will provide useful and practical knowledge on fiber filters typically used to filter excess alkaline and acid filtrates. The presentation will cover the important design parameters for the fiber filters and show typical results. The participants will also engage in troubleshooting exercises and will learn how to properly identify and resolve common issues around fiber filters.
